LXC, KVM, Windows KVM and Storage VPS can also be built with custom resources instead of a preset. KVM and Windows scale up to 32 vCPU, 96 GB RAM and 1 TB disk; Storage VPS goes up to 5 TB of disk. The live order page shows the exact slider ranges for each type.
Ordering
Pick a plan, an OS template, and a hostname; hourly or monthly billing (monthly is 10% cheaper). Your root/Administrator password is set right there and shown on the server's credentials card afterward.
Your password, after creation
Change it any time from the panel while the server is running - no reboot needed. Works for both Linux root and Windows Administrator (Windows goes through the guest agent, so it only works once Windows has finished booting).
SSH password login works right after install, no setup needed. Want key-only access instead? That's a normal sshd_config change on the server itself, and you can make it any time.
Reinstalling
Wipes the server and rebuilds it from a template you pick - this deletes everything on disk. You can't reinstall a suspended server, and you can't switch a Windows server to Linux (or back) on reinstall; pick a template from the same family.
Extra IPv4 addresses
Add up to 5 extra IPv4s to any server for a small monthly add-on per IP. On Linux KVM it's applied to the running server directly - usually no reboot needed; if it doesn't show up right away, a reboot picks it up. Removing an IP stops billing for it immediately.
Backups
Schedule an automatic daily backup (pick the hour, keep 1–3 copies), or take one manually any time - manual backups are limited to once every 30 minutes. Every backup can be renamed, restored, or downloaded.
Firewall
Up to 50 rules per server - direction, action, protocol, ports, and source. Four one-click presets cover the common cases:
- Web server - 80, 443, 22
- Game server - SSH, Minecraft, common Source-engine ports, and a generic game port
- SSH only - SSH + ping, everything else denied
- Locked down - SSH only, everything else denied
Reverse DNS (PTR)
Request a PTR record for any IP on your server from the panel. We apply it automatically where we can; where we can't, it's queued for our team to finish manually.
Console & files
A browser VNC console works even if the network inside the server is broken, and a full web file manager (browse, edit, upload, download as archive) covers day-to-day file access without needing SSH at all.
Importing an existing server
Moving from another provider: connect over SSH from the panel, browse what's on the source server, and start a guided import into a new InstantNode VPS.
If you fall behind on payment
Depends on your billing cycle - hourly servers are deleted as soon as your balance can't cover the next hour, monthly servers get a 72-hour warning, then a 72-hour grace period after suspension before deletion. See Billing & balance for the full breakdown.
